Fallout 3 Weapons Guide: Find Special, High-Damage Weapons Within the Wasteland

Don't leave Vault 101 without the information in this guide. Easily locate and acquire special and unique Fallout 3 weapons including A3-21's Plasma Rifle, The Kneecapper, Colonel Autumn's Pistol, and the Wazer Wifle.

Exploring the expansive capital wasteland in Bethesda’s latest role-playing masterpiece Fallout 3 is one of the most amazing gaming experiences in recent memory. Few recent games can even come close to the overall scope of the game and intricate detail with which it is realized.

The trek through the ruins of Washington D.C. can be a dangerous undertaking, however. With super mutants and ghouls on their tail, along with armies of mutated super bugs, the lone player needs every advantage he can get. Fortunately, for those looking for a little extra firepower, several special weapons are available for those who know where to find them.

This is by no means an all-inclusive list of the special weapons available in Fallout 3, but finding these weapons will definitely make life outside of Vault 101 a bit easier.

Fair warning, some of the descriptions may contain minor plot spoilers.

Special Energy Weapons

A3-21’s Plasma Rifle

A3-21’s Plasma Rifle is available at the end of the “Replicated Man” quest. Side with Harkness against Dr. Zimmer and Harkness will give it to you. This plasma rifle has increased damage and crit rating, and can be repaired using parts from normal plasma rifles.

Alien Blaster

The Alien Blaster is found lying next to a crashed alien spaceship. It has limited ammunition, Alien Power Cells, and a crit rating of nearly 100%. Find the alien crash site just north of the MDPL-13 Power Station.

Smuggler’s End

Smuggler’s End is a unique laser pistol with increased damage found in the safe in Elder Lyon’s room in the B Ring of The Citadel.

Wazer Wifle

The unique laser rifle called “Wazer Wifle” is purchased from a child named “Biwwy” in Little Lamplight. He will sell it to you for approximately 250 caps. Alternatively, if you have the “Child at Heart” perk, you can convince him to give it to you for free.

Ol' Painless and the Xuanlung's Chinese Assualt Rifle

If you go to the Republic of Dave, on him is a safe key which opens the safe in his office. Ol' Painless is a slightly more powerful hunting rifle. Xuanlung's Chinese Rifle is a more powerful Chinese Assault Rifle. Go to the Museum of Technology and you will find terminals in the lobby, by the delta rocket and next to the Virgo. Answer puzzles on those terminals. After all three are answered, go to the Jury St. Metro Station. There is a diner near by where you will find Prime's body. The Assault Rifle is on his body.

Vengeance

the vengeance gatling laser is actualy found in i cave at the back of the deathclaw sanctuary in a pool of "blood" next to a raider's body

The Vengeance, Fisto!, and Eugene

The Vengeance is the special gatling laser found in the back of the death claw sanctuary by on enclave soldier. The Fisto! is believe is found (correct me if im wrong) in the VDPL 13 power station north of mine field. The Eugene is found at the ranger compound after completing the mission you have an option to take it or get ranger armor. You can find the ranger compound by talking to the ranger leader who is at the doctor at Underworld in the Museum of History

the Reservist’s Rifle is another unique sniper rifle. You can loot it off of the Drifter hanging out in the Dickerson Tabernackle Chapel (you have to kill him first)

the victory rifle is a unique sniper rifle it is located in an abandoned shack at the top of a hill near Rockbreaker’s Last Gas it is in side a locked locker that u ne4ed 100 lock pick skill to get it.

the board of education

A stick with nails sticking out of it. A melee weapon that is used by a lot of super mutants. Go to clifftop shacks at the top of the hill. There are about a dozen super mutants around and inside the buildings. There are some hostages sitting about you can free. Head over to the far shack on your right when you reach the top of the hill. The board of education is next to the bed near a dead body.

the burnmaster

To find this weapon, first go to the Falls Church/Mason District Metro Station . Don't go up the stairs to the second level like you would to get to Hubris Comics, but stay down and go into the train tunnels. It will curve around and there will be an entrance to a utility tunnel. Go in there. Follow that until you get to where the tunnel goes down into the water. Go into the water and then make a left through a broken passage in the tunnel. Swim for a bit until you find a ramp that goes up. Continue down a hallway filled with radioactive barrels. At the end are 4 ammo boxes filled with flamer ammo and the Burnmaster.

the highwaymans freind is located in a garage in cantaberry commens you go into the garage go through a couple of rooms and it will be on the shelf with a mini nuke beside of it and some ammo.

THE TERRIBLE ENTISER

The terrible entiser is foud in a hidden hole called eves corner theres a little gir there do the speach challenges and she will give you it first you must do the big trouble in big town and there is a secret charecter you can rescue if you go into the bassment and look for a secret trap door and there be a guy called steve down there do his speach challenges and he will tell you were eves corner is you can kill her if you do she will have 2 stimpaks,5 purifid waters,plasma pistol and 200 caps...

Terrible Shotgun

The shotgun is called the terrible shotgun with both increased damage and durability. Its located in the evergreen mills bazaar on Smiling Jack the trader. The only way to get it is to either jack it off him (steal it) or to kill him for it.

purist shotgun

while your roaming the wastland at the begining a kid will run up to you and say his dad is missing at that will start off the quest THOSE!! do the quest find his dad who is dead?? then investigate the the sub way that begins with a M.
you will meet a scientist do his quest on the way you will meet bryan wilkses dad ha ha.
insted of just killing the royal guards also kill the queen ants ALL 5!!(it wont work unless you kill all 5 queens) then talk to bryan wilks dad do the speach quest save your game before so you can make sure you do incase you fail then he will give you his key to the trash can aroud the back of the dinear next to the radiation booth the kid is in.the trash can will have loads of different weapons loads of ammo and the purist shotgun and over 500 shotgun shells(you only get 500 shotgun shells if you pick the perk which makes you find extra ammo 3 times) better than the terrible shotgun.(best shotgun in game)

special chinese pistol

There is a special type of chinese pistol located in the east wing of the lob headquarters it does increased damge compared to the regular chinese pistol and sets enemies on fire when u shoot them

black hawk

There is a scoped 44. mag you can git called the blackhawk you can git it by compleating the mission "Agitha's song" and ask her for a better reward and she will give you the weapon.

ol'painless is not a combat shotgun it is a hunting rifle and is loacted in the republic of dave in the musem on the shelf

laser pistol

theres a special laser pistol called protectrons gaze and it can fire 5 lasers at once.you can also get a laser pistol called smuggerlers end and the only way to get is to max out your lockpick skill then open the safe in elder lyons room in B ring.

Really good Combat Shotgun

i thinks its called Ol' Painless you get it off the trader in the raider's Bazzar (which is in Evergreen Hills) there is also a a Hunting rifle (i think its a hunting rifle) in the republic of dave its in the safe in the main building where dave sleeps

Combat Shotgun

There´s a deadly combat shotgun in the Evergreen mile, in that kinda main building infested with Raiders, at the bottom of it lives this Trader dude that owns it, obiously killing him is the only way to get it

if you get to level 20 choose the exsplorer perk then go to the whitehouse (very radioactive=radiation) you will get very sick of radiation if u stay there but if u go up some stairs or something there is a dead guy with mini nukes i thought thats all he had but then i saw a fat man and was like "Whoahfatmandude"

theres also the xuanglong assault rifle in a diner in the wasteland (check the computers when you do the galaxy news radio mission and do the codes right it will give u the location to the diner).in the republic of dave dave has a special hunting rifle called ol painless. and in a place called east church or west church in a office is a prototype chinese pistol that sets enemies on fire when u shoot them.

There is also a gatling laser inside the deathclaw it is hidden further in the cave near some dead raiders
