This is part two of a two part article series. Harvest Moon: The Magical Melody for Gamecube is all about life and farming simulation and getting by day to day. These are the things that will help you out in single or multiplayer games.
Opening up Shops
Flower Bud Library – You will need to wait til mid spring in year one.
Hearty Lyla - You will need to ship things like flowers, clay, and blueberries.
Moonlight Café – You will need to meet Duke. Then when summer comes it’ll be there.
Paradise Orchard – Meet Dan and Roland. After that, plant a grape tree.
Perch Inn – Meet Doug. Then wait until summer.
Sanitarium – Ship 30 herbs. Then get Alex to at least one heart.
Atelier Saibara Clay Shop – You need to ship a load of good clay.
Café Callaway – Meet Eve and Carl, then wait 30 days.
Blacksmith – Ship ores, especially rare ores, til the blacksmith makes an appearance.
Special Areas
In Lake Cave
5th Level – There are moonstones in all the crystals
15th Level – Amethysts in all the crystals
20th Level – The popular stone in the aquamarines
25th Level – Crystals all have Topazs
30th Level – Sapphires all over
35 Level – Emeralds all over
40th Level – Rubies all over
45th Level – Limestone all over
50th Level – Rare diamonds
In Moonlight Mine
2nd Level – Tons of good clay
22nd Level – Amethysts
44th Level – Rare ores
55th Level – Amethysts
66th Level – Aquamarines
77th Level – Diamonds
Power Berries
There are all different ways of getting a power berry, here are some of the easiest ways for you to get one.
Horse Race – When you get a horse to the 5 and 6 hearts mark in affection, enter it into the Spring or the Fall Horse Race. If it wins you will get a power berry.
Pumpkin Festival – The week before the pumpkin festival you will need to ship a pumpkin. Then wait for the festival and on the day of it the Mayor will give you a power berry.
Beach Festival – If you win for the first time in the Swimming Competition you will get a power berry.
30 Notes – After getting 30 musical notes you will need to visit the Harvest Goddess Spring to get a power berry. You must see all the events for every five notes beforehand.
Moonlight Mine – There is a power berry that Tim will give you on the 100th floor of the Moonlight Mine.
Cheaper Chickens
Don’t buy chickens for 1200 gold when you can go to Blue Sky Ranch and buy eggs for only 120 gold. All you will need to do is wait for the egg to hatch. The chick will grow and you’ll have a chicken for a tenth of the price.
Higher Level Housing
For a level 3 house you need to be friends with Kurt, Joe, or Woody with at least a heart. Level 4 housing is from getting them to five or more hearts.
