Games have always been fun to get into and can seem to take over your life. What a perfect thing to base a movie on and the best thing is that there are already bunches of people that want to see how close it is to the game.

You might have heard of the new film Max Payne based on the games that have become so popular in the mainstream market. This is far from the first games that have been tweaked and turned into a version of the games that are self-sustaining.

Resident Evil, the zombie hunting game that has been around for a while now, also has spawned not just one film, but three as of now. The game allows you to play as one of two people that are trying to get to the end of the game alive while getting rid of the monsters that are creating havoc on the town. The films take a different look at the story and create its own story within the Resident Evil world. This film did very well in the theaters,They even made two more films after the first one was created.

Even the older Super Mario Brothers takes a new look at the classic game that we have all really learned to love. The brothers run into a princess of a land that is inhabited with people that evolved from dinosaurs. The film was made in the '90s and was the only one that was made of that story. There have been a lot of games based on various angles of the Super Mario world though the years even though there was only the one film. The film didn't do so well in the theaters. It was slated more for the young kids that played the game at the time.

The Last Star Fighter is a film that many people may not realize was a game before it was the film in the '80s. If you were a fan of the Atari, you might remember the space shooter game that could give hours of fun destroying aliens and kicking butt. If you were a person that was not able to own a gaming system in that time, you might even remember the old arcade game that was probably in your local drugstore.

Over the years there have been a lot of games that have found their way into the local theaters. Some others that you might remember are BloodRayne, that did OK in the theater and even got a sequel on the Sci-Fi channel, as well as Silent Hill, that did well in the theaters and was creepy as hell. You also should look for Metal Gear Solid coming in 2010 and possibly Bioshock. This is a trend that will keep going until there are no more games left in the world, and that is not going to be anytime soon.
