Christmas Shopping: Six Upcoming Games for the Nintendo Wii

Just in time for the Christmas holiday shopping rush, here are six upcoming releases for the Nintendo Wii. You can choose a few of these games, or get them all for some long hours of pure gaming madness.

Army Men Soldiers of Misfortune

armymenThe Green Brigadge battles it up against the Tan Strike Force to defend their house from being taken over. Players take on the character of Timmy as he imagines himself as one of the Army Men, three inches high and equipped with Army Men weapons. You have to complete every level mission until the final battle against the Tan Strike Force. If you win, you get to maintain your house, but if you lose, the Tan Strike Force takes over. Sounds pretty simple, eh? Genre: Action. Release Date: Oct. 7, 2008

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duel

The game lets you play ten of the characters in the movie, from Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, General Grievous, Asajj Ventress, Mace Windu, and Count Dooku to Ashoka Tano. Since this is a Star Wars-inspired game, you don't just get to hack your opponents using a lightsaber, but you can use the Force to your advantage as well. Genre: Action/Shooter. Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World

tales of SymphoniaFans of GameCube's greatest RPG -- Tales of Symphonia -- will be glad to know that its sequel, Dawn of the New World, is coming out. Taking advantage of the power of the Wii Remote, players can navigate the game's world using the Wii Remote pointer. The game lets players control a party of up to four members plus AI-controlled monsters from the game's selection of 200 monsters. And with the game's Flex Range Element Enhanced Linear Motion Battle System, you would definitely devote too much of your time exploiting this system to your characters' advantage. In addition to the battles that you would encounter as you finish the game, you'd also get the chance to complete sidequests and mini-games. Genre: RPG. Release Date: Dec. 31, 2008

KungFu Panda: Legendary Warriors

kungfuPandaOur second movie spin-off game for the Wii is none other than the cutesy Po and his gang such as Tigress, Monkey or Shifu as you battle Tai Lung who is out to capture the Furious Five to obtain their chi energy. It lets you do acrobatic kung fu moves using what else but the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. You can kick, chop and punch your enemies. This game also features co-op mode, head-to-head challenge and team-based multiplayer modes. And as you go along the game and beat it the first time, you'll be able to unlock other hidden characters. Certainly adds to the replayability of the game. Genre: Action. Release Date: Nov. 4, 2008

Guitar Hero World Tour
