Sample Gantt Chart created in Excel

Days remaining calculation can be improved with the following calculation (sample for the first row of the spreadsheet):

=IF(ISNUMBER(C7),MIN(c7-b7,c7-B$4)+0.49,0)

The ISNUMBER function allows the formula to work in a blank line without creating strange results.

The +.49 allows a task completed the same day it is started to show up on the chart while still showing zero days remaining, if you show zero decimal places.

The MIN function allows the chart to show the true time remaining in the task for tasks that have not yet started.

Hi Francis,
What version of Excel are you using? Even though this was saved as a doc file, it was created in Excel 2007 -- so some of the functionality may not be work in older versions of the software.

This is very useful for small schedule with less number of line items. Appreciate it.

This can be used to present the milestone schedule.

For a real project schedule wiht lot of dependencies, I would prefer Microsoft Project Plan or such tools.

Lol I must be honest... I have seen better... You can make great Gantt charts using Ms Office Project... It worth the money
