Many of the templates and sample files are available in Excel 2003 format, but there are a few only in the 2007 format. However, even if you're using Excel 2003, you still should be able to access them if you download and install a special compatibility pack from Microsoft. This article by Meryl Evans gives more information about that pack and a few links to other file conversion services.
