Have you been hoping for a project management tool to be included in Open Office? Unfortunately, Open Office doesn't have one, but they do have a list of options for your project management needs. Find out what might work for your project management needs if you're an avid Open Office user.

Does Open Office Have a Project Manager Program?

If you're an avid user of Open Office, you're not alone. Many people use Open Office for their word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation needs. However, you may have found yourself longing for Open Office to create a project manager program. At Open Office's website, a page has been created for Open Office Project Manager. However, this page has not been updated since late 2005. On this website is a wishlist of features that Open Office Project Manager would have, including:

  • Gantt Chart
  • Resource Leveling
  • Cross Platform
  • Report Creation Flexibility
  • Client Server Based
  • PERT Chart

Because the website has not been updated in many years, and because there hasn't been a beta release of the software program, it would seem as though at the time of this article, that the Open Office Project Management tool is not in production. However, there are many open source project management alternatives that are compatible with Open Office programs.

Could you please add AmiProject website to that list. It is just a viewer of Microsoft Project files, but it does not require to install any software if you need just to review project plan. Thank you. http://www.amiproject.com
