You may not be able to afford Microsoft’s newest office suite of applications, Office 2007, but that shouldn’t prevent you from opening Office 2007 files when clients, colleagues, or friends send them to you.
Where to Get It
If you use Office 2000, 2003, or XP, and you want to open documents in the Windows 2007 format, you have to install the Office Compatibility Pack. You can download the Office Compatibility Pack here. Once the compatibility pack is installed, you might also have to install updates for your Office version. The best way to do this is to use Windows Update.
After you install these updates successfully, you can start opening and saving Office 2007 files
