Problem: Excel has an annoying habit. Whenever you type something in a cell that looks like an e-mail address or a website URL, Excel will underline the value, change the font color to blue, and make it a clickable hyperlink, as shown in Fig. 1207.

Strategy: As shown in Fig. 1208, to remove the hyperlink, right-click the cell and choose Remove Hyperlink.
To prevent Excel from adding hyperlinks in the first place, go to Tools – AutoCorrect Options. On the tab for Autoformat as you Type, uncheck the Internet and Network Paths with Hyperlinks, as shown in Fig. 1209.
