When you have more then one computer in your home office, you might wonder how you can create a network that will let you go all over instead of being tied to a desk all day. You might not of thought about going wireless. The best part is that it’s not as hard as you might have thought.

What Do You Need?

When you are creating your wireless network, you will need a few things to get it going. The first is, of course, a computer. If you are using a laptop for your business, you might be hooked up though a LAN line. This can

be a pain if you want to take your computer with you to a different part of the house.

The next thing that you will need is a wireless router and card. The router is going to be the thing that sends the wireless signal to your computer. Most of the time a router will come with an installation CD that you can use to install your wireless router for use with your computer. If you are not sure about what to do, call your routers manufacturer and they will be able to walk you though it.

Most PC Laptops have a wireless card installed on them so they can easily find your network once you have set it up. You can also go to many coffeehouses and connect wirelessly now as well. If you don’t have a computer that has a card already installed, you can go to your local store and buy an external USB card that will let you connect and work without the hassle of cords holding you down.

Where To Buy

There are many places that you can buy your network cards or router. You might even be able to get a computer as well if you don’t have one just yet. Online is a great place to start. You can normally get wireless cards at a discount price. You also might be able to have customer support on how to set up your network.

Department stores also sell routers and wireless cards. If you are going to look there, make sure that you read the box that they are in and that it is something that you can use with your system. The last thing that you want is to try to get something set up and it not work with what you have.

The last place that you can look is at used computer parts stores. These stores often sell cards and routers for lower prices. You should use caution and make sure that there is a return policy of some sort so that if it doesn’t work, you

can get your money back.

Having a wireless setup with your office can make working more fun and relaxing. Going wireless lets you work in the yard on a nice day or in your car when you are in a hurry. Take a minute and give it a try, you will be happy that you did.
