Windows Live Calendar – All You Need to Know

Windows Live Calendar is a component of Windows Live Services including Live Mail and Live Contacts. With Windows Services, you can take your office with your wherever you go.

You keep a calendar in your home office. It may be a paper calendar or a digital one, like the calendar included with Microsoft Outlook. Having this type of calendar isn't the type of calendar you need if you're mobile though, if you travel often, or if you visit clients at their place of business. What you need is an online calendar.With an online calendar, you can access the data on it wherever you can access the Internet, and thus update it on the fly.

If you’re in need of an online calendar, and you use Hotmail, Live Mail, Live Toolbar, Live Contacts, or other Windows Live services, Windows Live Calendar may be the perfect calendar for you. With Windows Live Calendar, you can access your schedule from anywhere, provided you have access to an Internet connection. The calendar offers familiar calendar features including:

* The ability to access and view calendar data by the day, week, or month.

* Drag and drop functionality.

* The ability to share your calendar with friends.

* The ability to plan and share group events.

* Share as much or as little information as desired.

* View multiple calendars from a single interface.

To get started:

1. Visit http://calendar.live.com.

2. Click Try It.

3. Log on using your Windows Live ID. For more information refer to my article Windows Live ID – All You Need to Know.

4. Choose a time zone.

5. View the calendar. [See Image 1].

6. Double-click a date to input an event or appointment.

7. Click Save. The event will be added to the calendar. [See Image 2]

8. Click Share to share your calendar.

9. Configure sharing options. [See Image 3]

10. Click Save.

11. From the Calendar interface, access Mail, Contacts, and other Live services as needed. [See Image 4]
