My blog will consist of my views on marketing, economics, new media PR, online media observations, and random thoughts on personal office productivity. My current focus is in the search engine marketing arena. The terms and strategy I chart out will appeal to small business owners who work out of their home office or storefront to large companies that do not have an online marketing strategy in place. I want to thank Bright Hub for this opportunity!
Over the years I have received many questions about Online Marketing, PR, Site Optimization and website design. My blog will answer many of these questions. So without further adieu, let’s start with the basics.
Online (Internet) marketing is the marketing of products or services over the web. The internet makes marketing anything a possibility. What I like about online marketing is the fact that campaigns (programs) can be run cheap and targeted. Depending on your budget, online marketing programs can include blogs, social media exposure, search engine optimization, PR 2.0 social media releases, Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising on Google AdWords, Yahoo! Search Marketing, and/or Microsoft adCenter. The goal of Online Marketing is either traffic (which will hopefully translate into conversion sales) or brand building. As with any type of Marketing, a good understanding of how to analyze data and trends is VERY important to your efforts. I will give you tips on how to analyze website traffic so that you can gauge and tweak the effectiveness of your website and marketing campaigns.
I look forward to covering all these topics as well as gathering all I discover about new web marketing tools, the social media, and its effect on marketing. Hold on tight, here we go!
