Jargon: A specialized vocabulary, especially one relating to technical fields, is comprised of technical terms or jargon. Jargon is present within any specialization, whether technical, business, or hobby related, but technical fields seems to develop a wider range of jargon faster.
Jobs: What every freelance writer, consultant, or home worker needs: a quantity of high-quality, great-paying, interesting jobs. Of course, finding them is difficult, and once the opportunities are found there is plenty of competition before you actually gain the job. The Internet has created many new job opportunities, and job boards that specialize in telecommuting jobs have developed right along with the job opportunities.
Joomla: A open source content management system, Joomla incorporates a somewhat basic content management system with a highly customizable configuration. The multitude of themes, plug-ins, modules, and components available for Joomla make it adaptable for almost any web application. Joomla itself is free (under GNU licensing) and many of the themes and add-ons are also available free of charge. There are also many professional coders and developers who have a business of creating and selling customized Joomla additions.
Joystick: Not nearly as common as they were in the 1980s and 1990s, a joystick is a controller for a video or computer game. Many video game systems and even computer games now use other types of controllers, not just joysticks, which consist of a small, square base from which protrudes the vertical handle which may or may not have buttons on the sides and top to activate additional commands or functions within the game. The basic joystick is still a popular choice for flight simulation games.
Junk email: If you have an email account, you have probably encountered junk, or spam, email. Junk email is unwanted marketing material, advertisements, sales pitches, and product descriptions; junk email often advertises questionable products and/or services and uses nonsensical filler to try to get past the junk email filter.
Junk email filter: The junk, or spam, email filter is a function of your email system which tags incoming mail by particular keywords and/or by the sending address and blocks or archives those which appear to be junk email. Most junk email filters have settings which can be adjusted to your preferences; you can usually have the filter store all junk email until you choose to review and permanently delete it, or you can have the junk email filter empty itself at scheduled times.
