Microsoft Works Pictures and Clipart

Clipart is used for many things in Microsoft Works like creating invitations, flyers, articles, and so much more. In this guide, I will walk you through the steps of opening the clipart gallery, browsing through the gallery, and inserting the clipart and pictures into your document. Using the clipart found in Works will keep you from having to search the internet for something you are looking for. However, if you can’t find what you are looking for in the gallery, you may have to search anyway.

Getting Started

To begin, you will need to open your Microsoft Work’s Word Processor. I will start off by showing you how to insert pictures into your document. Go to the top of your Microsoft Works window and click Insert > Picture > From File. A box will open and you will need to locate the picture that you want to insert in that box. You will have to navigate through the folders to find the picture. Once you have found the picture, click it, and then click the Open button. Your picture will open and be inserted into your document. That’s how you insert a picture.

Inserting Clipart and Pictures

Now I will show you how to insert clipart into your document. Go to the top of your window again and click Insert > Picture > Clipart. The Clipart box will open and you will see the different categories of clipart. Scroll through the categories and click one to select it. Below the categories box you will see the Sub-Categories. You can select a sub-category if you want too. You can also drop the media type box down and select the media type of your choice.

You can also search for clipart in the clipart box. Open your clipart box up again. In the top of the box, you will see the Find tab. Click that tab. Type a word in the Keyword box. Then click the search button. Your search results will appear in the window on the right of the box. Insert the clipart the same way you did earlier. Click the clipart and click Insert. That’s how you insert clipart into Microsoft Works.

You can resize your clipart and pictures. Click the clipart or picture with your mouse. You will notice the box around the clipart or picture. Place your mouse at the bottom right corner and drag it inward to size it down. Drag it outward to make it larger.
