Creating Christmas Party Invitations right from your home office is easy as 1, 2, 3. All you need is Microsoft Works Word Processor and a graphic or two. The graphics are optional. I will explain that a little more once we get started. This tutorial will walk you through creating a Christmas Party Invitation in Microsoft Works Word Processor. After you have finished creating the invitation, you can print it right from your home office printer.

Let’s go ahead and get started. Open your Microsoft Works Word Processor. A new page will automatically load. The first thing that we will do is apply a page border. Go to the top of your Works window and click Format > Borders and Shading. A box will open and this is where you will need to change your settings. Change the top box to page. Then open the Border Art box. Scroll through the different borders and select the one that you want. Then you can change the width of the border art. Click OK to apply the border to your page. Now you will see your page border.

Next, you can start typing your text on the invitation. You can start by typing the header. Something like “Merry Christmas”, “You’re Invited to a Christmas Party”. Something like that. Then you can change the text size, color, and font. Then center the text. Below this text is a great place to insert a graphic. You can find free Christmas graphics on the web. Graphics will really set the invitation off. To insert a graphic, go to the top of your window and click Insert > Picture > From File. Locate the graphic that you want to use. Double click the graphic to open it. You can resize your graphic if you need to by dragging a corner.

Now you can finish adding your other text. You will need to type the information about the party. You can experiment with different font styles, text color, size, and position. Using the enter key on the keyboard will give you spaces between the text and graphics. You will probably want to center the invitation in the middle of the page. You can do this by placing your mouse at the top of your document and pressing enter until it is centered.

Remember to keep saving your work as you go. You do not want to get almost done and the power go out. You would have to start all over. A quick way to save your work as you go is pressing CTRL S on your keyboard. To save your work for the first time, go to File > Save As and type in a name for your file. Then click the Save button.

Once you have added all of your text, you can add another graphic at the bottom if you want too. Graphics seem to set invitations off. They make them look pretty. After you have your Christmas Invitation made, you can start printing the invitations. Start off by printing one to make sure that it looks the way that you want it. You may need to adjust some stuff before printing the final copy. After you have it just right, you can set the copies number up and print as many as you need.
