So far in this four part tutorial, you have learned how to add your photos and edit them. In part three of this tutorial I am going to show you how to apply the transition effects, change the delay time, and add captions to each photo. Assuming you already have your photos edited and ready to go in the first window, click the Transitions Effect button under the Photo Tab. You should be seeing the following screen.

transition effect screen In the top panel you will see all of the transition effects available. In the bottom panel you will see all of your photos. Click a photo to select it. Then click the transition effect in the top window that you want to apply to the photo. You will see a preview of the transition in the preview window on the right of the screen.

In between the transition effects and the photo panel, you will see the options for the transition effects. The first option is the Transition Duration field. This field determines how long the transition effect will take to move to the next photo. You can drop this box down and click the option of your choice. The next field is the Photo Duration field. This field determines how long a photo will display before moving to the next one. Once you have made your choices, click the Apply To Selected button. That will apply the new settings to the photo that you selected.

You will need to go through each photo and apply the above steps. You can quickly apply effects to each photo by using the Random Effect. That will apply random transition effects to all of the photos. That is the quickest way to do it. But I will leave that up to you.

Now I will show you how to add captions to your photos. You will need to click the Properties tab at the top of the effects panel. You should be seeing the following screen.

    captions screen

In this panel you will see the fields where you can enter the title, description, and a link. Fill in the fields. You will need to click each photo and fill in the fields. You can choose not to add the captions to the photos. If you do not have a lot of time, you can just skip this part of the tutorial.

The last part of this tutorial will show you how to apply a theme to your video and how to burn it to a DVD or save it for your Website. If you are ready to move on, go to part four of this tutorial.
