As with any holiday, using your desktop publishing skills to create memorable cards is an affordable way to make memories. The holiday that we are going to take a look at here is Father's Day. The holiday itself started as a grassroots movement in Spokane, Washington back in 1910 and with the creation of The National Father's Day Committee the movement grew. Popularity of the holiday celebration spread and through a Joint Resolution of Congress in 1956 Father's Day became an official holiday. Later in 1972, President Nixon established that Father's Day would be observed on the third Sunday of June every year. So, just as with Mother's Day the exact date of celebrating Father's Day changes from year to year.
A good way to use desktop publishing to celebrate the holiday is by creating printable cards. You can create your own styled card in your favorite graphics program or you can use various free templates from other sources. When using a free template, you have creative freedom to change font style or color but you can also use the card template as is and choose only to change the text. The following links are sources for free Father's Day card templates that are royalty free and can be changed, printed, or modified with any desktop publishing tool that you wish to use.
