You can use Octin Sports for anything from headlines to body text — although it can be a little overwhelming if you use it for a full page of text. If you need a font that gets you thinking about ESPN and other sports shows, SF Sports Night fits the bill. It is available in a wide variety weights, along with a few different style changes — all of which are available as free downloads. The font is somewhat limited, offering only capital letters, numerals and punctuation: it's ideal for headlines, but it won't do for large blocks of text.

For a fun feel, consider KR BBall. This font, with a basketball player spinning letters on his fingers, is perfect for adding just a touch of the sport to your desktop publishing projects. While the font is limited — it includes only uppercase letters and numbers — its limitations actually work in your favor. More than a few letters of this font are difficult to read but just a few add a sense of fun.

KR All Sport is a dingbat font, offering a variety of sports images that you can insert nto your project as easily as adding a letter. This particular font has a number of different basketball images, as well as other sports icons. Once you've installed the font on your computer, using it is just a matter of setting a letter that corresponds to the image you want in that font.
