A few weeks before this bear made his appearance, the city shot a bear within spitting distance of this one[:'(]. The problem is that people leave their rubbish out (we're not suppose to place our cans on the curb until the morning of pickup, but sadly some ignorant people don't abide by this rule) and it attracts the bears into town.
I'm no bear expert, but this guy looks pretty young to me. I don't know if he's the baby of the one that was shot. The poor little guy was scared up a tree because our dog was barking at him. After locking our dog inside and taking a few photos, we left him alone in hopes that he was come down and leave. Fortunately, we never heard any gun shots, so I believe he made it home unscathed.
