Top 10 Thanksgiving Brush Sets in Photoshop

Creating Thanksgiving cards, scrapbook pages, or any project in Photoshop can be quite a pain without a few brush sets to help out. You always have the option of making your own Photoshop brushes, but for maximum convenience, it really helps to just have access to pre-made sets which have shapes and designs you want to use. Here are my top 10 Thanksgiving brushes for Photoshop. These can be used for so many projects that the hardest thing might be trying to decide what to make!

All links where you can find these brushes are included at the end of this article, and all the sets work on Photoshop 7 and above. Best of all, all of these brushes are free!

"Autumn Clusters"

7 brushes all designed around fall leaves and vines. These Thanksgiving brushes can be used for almost any autumn themed project, and can be customized and manipulated to create exactly the look you want. I love using a gradient overlay when using these brushes.

"Thanksgiving set"

This is a set of 16 brushes that work more like watermarks or stamps within Photoshop. Images in this set include Turkeys, corn, wheat, pilgrims, Indians, and more. They are great traditional Thanksgiving images to use.

"My Thanksgiving"

A set of 6 brushes with artistic images of Thanksgiving. My favorite brushes in this set are a leaf “wreath”, and a child that I love to use as a watermark. These are good brushes for Thanksgiving cards, themed newsletters, or scrapbooking pages.

"Harvest Brushes "

5 brushes that could be considered standard for any Thanksgiving themes project. Images include turkey, pumpkins, and vegetables. They make great additions to an overall project, and can be used in anything from a professional email to a card your children made.

“Autumn Leaves”

Autumn Leaves is a very large set of 50 brushes. As the name would suggest, this set if full of many types of solid leave shapes. These can be used as stamps, to make custom borders, and any number of projects you can think of.

"Fall Clips Brushes"

These 16 Photoshop brushes are best used to create border or add stamps to your project. They are solid shapes which will print out well in grayscale or full color without a lot of detail to them. I like to use them to create vector-like wallpaper for my desktop. Depending on the colors you use, you could probably use these brushes year round to instil the spirit of each season.

"Thanksgiving Borders"

This is a set of 5 brushes designed as borders for greeting cards or announcements. They come in different styles to suit almost any personality. I find the most use for them is in bordering pictures to later share of my family enjoying thanksgiving. These can then be made into e-cards, postcards, printed pictures, or even be added into a yearly family letter. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, so I always include it in updates to friends and family, and these Thanksgiving brushes help everyone feel like they were there.

"Leaves Brushes Megapack"

This set of 16 Photoshop brushes contains shapes of leaf clusters, and they are more than just the shapes. These brushes are more realistic, and my favorite way to use them is by lowering the opacity to about 40%, and layering the brush two-three times using different colors. This creates a true multicolor effect quickly, but may take a few tries to get it right. Other fun ways to experiment is by using the color burn and color dodge features in Photoshop. You can create quite a few unique and beautiful designs that can be used year round.

Thanksgiving Borders in Photoshop

"Thanksgiving III"

16 brushes that are like stamps of familiar autumn scenes. Dormant trees, growing wheat, leaves, and two borders to create Thanksgiving projects filled with the spirit of autumn. Although they are labeled as Thanksgiving brushes for Photoshop, I believe they can be used for much more than just Thanksgiving art. Scrapbook pages, for example, would be easy and colorful with just one brush in this set.

"Vector Autumn Banners"

11 Full color vector brushes made in Adobe illustrator. These brushes are easy to use as they are already in color, so not a lot of tweaking is necessary. You can use them as banners, backgrounds, or just complimentary elements to you Thanksgiving greetings! Vector images are nice to work with because they will look great no matter what size you make them, where as some brushes or images might start to lose definition as you resize them.

Tips For Use:

I find that using these brushes can be disheartening if you don’t know how to bring life back into their uniform color. To add a little color, you can use the lasso tool to select the area you want a different color, then go to Image-->Adjustments-->Hue/Saturation. You can also play with the levels of each section to get darker or brighter colors. Other easy ways is to layer brushes on top of each other and chose the Color Burn or Color Doge options to experiment with the effects.

Here is a list of the websites that you can find these brushes. Many are found on Deviantart, again remember they are all free.
