Photography is a form of art and like any other form of art it is subjective. What may be stunning to one person may not be impressive to another. So when it comes to wedding photography the photographer must really stand apart. The award winning photographers below are unique in their approach to their photographic craft and have been featured in different magazines and publications.

Kevin Kubota, who is based in Oregon, was named one of the top 10 wedding photographers by American Photo Magazine for his photojournalistic approach to weddings. Kevin and his wife are a team shooting weddings together. He is also an international speaker and author. In addition to running a photography business he also co-owns a business providing workshops and other training products for photographers.

Jose Villa is a world renowned wedding photographer based in Santa Barbara, California. He shoots 100% of his photos in film. He even can be found using a toy camera sometimes. He studied photography at Brooks Institute of Art where he earned his Bachelor’s in Fine Art. He was named one of the most influential photographers of the decade by PDN with his images being used in several wedding publications around the world.

Denis Reggie, based out of Atlanta Georgia, is one of the premier photographers of the 20th century. He is world renowned for his famous wedding photography and is considered to be one of the leading pioneers in moving out of the “boring" wedding photos. He has been shooting for over 20 years and even coined the phrase “wedding photojournalism." One of the more famous weddings he has done has been the wedding for John Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette.

Jessica Claire who is based in Orange County California has a flair for wedding photography. She has shot weddings from Greece to South Africa. She is best known for her vivid colors and eclectic images. She has a flair for the dramatic and enjoys photographing action shots. These reasons are what make her one of the most sought after photographers.

Curt Littlecott is an Englishman, a once-professional water skier who moved from Great Britain to Florida pursue his love of water skiing. In the beginning he started out by photographing destinations for travel brochures, which then morphed into weddings in 1994. He has since expanded his horizons and in addition to weddings is now also a fashion and portraiture photographer.

Joe Buissink, based in Beverly Hills, California is a world renowned celebrity wedding photographer that has been shooting photography since the mid 1990’s. He is now one of the most sought after wedding photographers with a very impressive wedding portfolio of stars. In addition to having an impressive portfolio of celebrity weddings, he also travels worldwide to shoot the weddings. He has been everywhere from Italy and France to Aspen, Colorado. He is one of the most sought after wedding photographers of our time.

Karen Wise, based in New York City got her fine arts degree and was an experienced food and still life photographer before she started on the road to becoming a premier wedding photographer. Her journey started when she informally shot a friend’s wedding. Now she travels all over the world to photograph weddings for clients with one of the more memorable being in India, where a baby elephant was given as a gift.

Ben Chrisman, named top wedding photographer in the world by Wedding Photojournalist Association, is located in San Francisco. He started out in the wedding photography business by not liking what wedding photographers and wanted to do something different. Now he and Erin, his partner, create images from their weddings that they shoot all over the world.

Cliff Mautner, based in Philadelphia, has been a photographer for over 25 years. He started out as a photojournalist for the Philadelphia Inquirer, but sort of fell into wedding photography. He didn’t always even care for it because he thought it had too much of a staged feel. He uses his own passion and creativity to give his photos flair, depth and emotion. He can also be found teaching workshops and at photography related conferences doing speaking engagements.

Her work has graced the covers of US Weekly and In Style among others.
