Fizz Alarms has everything you will ever need to manage time on your Windows Mobile Pocket PC. It is not only an alarm utility but also includes cool stopwatches and counters, providing a complete management solution on your device. The programs highly customizable and user-friendly interface also allows you to tune the application according to your convenience. It is compatible with WAV, WMA & MP3 audio formats and includes a snooze feature as well.
Fizz Alarms is developed by Fizz Software and can be bought from their website for $17.95. You can download a free trial version setup file available in .EXE and .CAB format by clicking on this link here.
The program is compatible with all Pocket PCs running on Windows Mobile 6.1 platform and supports all screen sizes and resolutions. If your Pocket PC is connected to a computer, the app can be installed easily on your device by downloading the .EXE file on the PC and then using Microsoft ActiveSync to run it.
Once the installation process was over, I opened the application by tapping on → Start Menu → Programs → Fizz Alarms which directed me to its main window that displays three main options. These options are Alarms, Stopwatch and Counters and you can tap on any of these options to configure their respective settings.
Tapping on the clock icon on the screen will give you a full-screen view of the clock. Initially, I tapped on the ‘Alarms’ tab and opened its options menu to configure an alarm.
The first option allowed me to assign a name to my alarm and I could also define a time and date when I wanted this alarm to go off. I could choose whether I wanted this alarm to be recurring daily, weekly or yearly or to notify me only once. Then I selected the audio file I wanted to play while alerting me. I could select any MP3, WAV or WMA file from my phone or storage card memory. Here I could also configure the duration of alarm, volume settings and snooze options.
There is no limit and the app allows you to set multiple alarms that can be selected and opened to access edit options any time from a simple to navigate list.
Finally I tapped on the ‘stopwatch’ tab to use the stopwatch option. I could easily start and stop the stopwatch and could even record the laps. These laps can be saved on your device and further exported as an MS Excel file to a desktop PC. The app also allows you to set multiple counters at the same time and I tapped on the ‘Menu’ option to access counter properties like reset, delete and much more.
Fizz Alarms is definitely a feature-rich and expert time management solution for Windows Mobile Pocket PC taking care of every timing requirement you might have.
It is also highly customizable and I could create and set multiple alarms to be synchronized with my busy schedule. The user interface is beautiful and neatly designed, allowing easy and fast navigation through the systems settings.
The additional stopwatch and counters features are quite functional and really work. However, the price of $17.95 is slightly expensive for an alarm application but as they say good things don't come cheap and this app justifies this price tag by being an extremely useful timing tool.
