Windows Live Streamer connects your Windows Mobile device to your YouTube account and provides a single point of access to uploading your videos to the popular video hosting site!
Upload Videos to YouTube
Windows Live Streamer is a great Windows Mobile app that allows you to upload video that you film on your mobile directly to YouTube and then share it to social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
Featuring support for English and Czech users and various video types, Windows Live Streamer is a great tool for creating video blogs or sending footage of events to Youtube as soon as it happens, via your Windows Mobile device.
Installation Requirements
Currently in Beta, Windows Live Streamer can be downloaded free from Codeplex.com.
The downloaded CAB file is 5.7 MB, so you might opt to download this to your PC and copy across to your Windows Mobile device. Installation is via the CAB file – this must be present on your Windows Mobile phone in order to begin the installation, which is done by running the CAB file.
Windows Live Streamer is designed for Windows Mobile 5 to 6.1 devices. Note of course that as Windows Live Streamer uploads content to YouTube, you’ll need a generous data plan with your network provider.

Using Windows Live Streamer
The idea is straightforward – record a video clip from your Windows Mobile video camera and upload this to YouTube. Once you’ve recorded your clip, Windows Live Streamer will then allow you to upload the clip to the popular video hosting site.
You need a YouTube account to do this of course (signup at www.youtube.com), and your username and password can be saved in Windows Live Streamer for access to your account when the app uploads your video clip.

Rating
Sadly Windows Live Streamer doesn’t give the best results on all phones – testing on the Sony Ericsson Xperia I couldn’t upload video footage in MPEG4 format that I had just recorded due to the software not picking it up. Video clips that came with the phone however were available for upload – and in the same format too.
I’m assured by other users of Windows Live Streamer that it does work however, and quite well too – as such this app gets an average rating with a hope that as its currently in beta, the full version will overcome this quite key drawback.
