Yes I'm well aware that writing a review on Spin The Bottle may seem a little odd, but honestly the Windows Mobile version of the popular game is actually quite amusing and adds new "gameplay" to the classic middle/high school game. Keep reading for a good laugh, or to find out how to get it.

OverallRating Good

I'm a little too old and a little to married to actually play spin the bottle anymore, but I couldn't resist throwing this $1.99 app from Handango on my Touch Pro2 and giving it a go round. The game loaded easily (.Cab file) and quickly (230kb) directly onto my phones memory card (you can install directly on your device as well).

Once installed the screens used to play the game couldn't be any easier to navigate. For example in the screenshot shown below users can edit the "actions" they want to take place when the bottle is spun. For example, you could add "Nibble On Ear" or "Kick On Lips" the "action chooser" as its known can include up to 10 actions which are automatically picked by the program once the bottle is spun.

Once the action list is created spinning the bottle couldn't be any easier, simply swipe your finger across the bottle on the screen and the spinning begins just like it would on any typical spin the bottle game. When the bottle stops on any of the players the "action" to take is displayed on the screen.

Non-touchscreen users can also play the game by using the spin option at the bottom of the display to spin the bottle, everything else after the menu option acts exactly the same was as the touch controls on the game.

Final Thoughts

Spin the Bottle has survived the test of time and probably still gets played at make out parties in junior highs across the country, it's a goofy game that many of us remember playing when we were younger and now it's gone high tech. It's a goofy Windows Mobile application, yet not everyone can carry a bottle around in their pockets.

If nothing else this application is the perfect reason for you to keep your WinMo devices away from your children. It's goofy and cheap to buy, give it a try if you're really really bored.
