This is the second part of the review of the Acer Tempo M900 smartphone powered by Windows Mobile focusing on the display, camera, multimedia, and battery of the phone.

DisplayRating Good

The Acer Tempo M900 sports a 3.8 inch TFT resistive touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 800 pixels. It supports 65K colors just like all other Windows Mobile phones in this range. This is probably the biggest display in any Windows Mobile offering yet. The display is adequately bright, and the contrast is pretty good. The sunlight legibility is not much to speak of. The resistive touchscreen offers good responsiveness and is very sensitive. Browsing through the Acer Shell interface is a pleasure on the touchscreen.

Camera and MultimediaRating Good

The Acer Tempo M900 sports a 5MP camera which can capture images at a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels. It also has autofocus and a LED flash. The image quality is pretty nice with nice color reproduction. The camera is much better than the HTC Touch Pro2. The camera interface is easy to use and allows for custom tweaking. The Acer Tempo M900 can also handle video recording in VGA resolution but only in the 3GP format.

The audio quality is pretty good. The phone can double up as a portable MP3 player for casual listeners. To improve your audio experience, you can use better earphones. The Tempo M900 is suited for video playback thanks to the large display and fast processor, which means no frame skipping. You can install and use Core Player to play a wide variety of formats. The video quality is very smooth; it is ideal for watching movies while on the go. It also comes with a built in FM radio with a nice interface and good reception.

ConnectivityRating Good

The Acer Tempo M900 is powered by a 1530 mAh battery which lasts about two days with moderate usage. The battery is slightly more powerful than the HTC Touch Pro2. It is loaded with a range of connectivity options: GPRS, EDGE, 3G HSDPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, etc. It also has Bluetooth v2.0 EDR with A2DP. It also has a built in GPS module.

This phone comes with a built-in biometric fingerprint scanner. You can use this to lock your device or to protect your data. To lock or unlock the device, just swipe your finger once over the scanner. This is much more secure than using passwords.

The Acer Tempo M900 is a very able device with nice hardware specifications. It is better than the HTC Touch Pro2 except when it comes to the user interface, the design, and RAM. It is also cheaper than the Touch Pro2, which makes the Acer Tempo M900 a good and recommended option.
