This free Windows Mobile app brings the power of the BBC iPlayer and the ITV player to your handset - catch up with all of your favorite TV shows on the go!

iPlayer On Your Windows Mobile

While the idea of BBC iPlayer on your Windows Mobile device isn't new, it has until now been difficuilt to achieve. Browser hacks, unusual browser applications and even previous custom iPlayer applications have all tried but ultimately failed due to restrictions on the iPLayer feed that works so well for the iPhone userbase.

All that looks set to change at long last however with MyPlayer, a streaming client that plays not only BBC content but also ITV catch up programming.

Having the United Kingdom's two main networks supplying content online is good enough - being able to get top shows on your Windows Mobile device is even better!

Download MyPlayer

Developed by Skynet Software, MyPlayer can be downloaded from FreewarePocketPC.net and is just 226 KB in size. The downloaded CAB file must be present on your Windows Mobile device in order to install ti, so make sure you either copy it across to your device via Bluetooth or USB or download directly to your handset.

Run the CAB file to begin installation and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the process.

The only real system requirements are a device running Windows Mobile 5, 6 or 6.1 - however CorePlayer media player (or its open source sister TCPMP) is required to play the content.

TV on the go is the future, and MyPlayer certainly brings a more stable and reliable iPlayer client to the Windows Mobile platform.

The accompanying images only tell a part of the story - the end product TV stream is crisp and sharp, and the options and functionality that are a part of the client such as network settings, streaming options and interface settings give MyPlayer the solidity and confidence of a premium product.

Naturally the quality of the stream is dependent on your network and current signal strength, but if you have a PC or WiFi connection to hand then these will provide even better pictures and sound. A VLC media server can be configured and accessed for overcoming connectivity issues such as blocked ports and overseas viewing

Users of non touchscreen Windows Mobile devices can also use MyPlayer.

The Best iPlayer App YetRating Excellent

Having tried various hacks and less developed clients in the past, MyPlayer stomps all over these alternatives. The Opera browser hack isn't really applciable anymore, while SkyFire gets overloaded with BBC iPlayer requests because of the nature of the application and the sessions it operates in.

As such, BBC iPlayer has a new home on Windows Mobile devices that isn't restricted by messages exclaiming that the network bandwidth is insufficient when you've previously proved it isn't.

MyPlayer is a must-have, vital, quality piece of software whose visual appearance fits in perfectly with the iPlayer brand and finally gives BBC iPlayer a home on the Windows Mobile platform
