Audio recording is a basic feature available on almost all phones, though few phones manage to do it right. Often in most phones, there is either a time limit on the recording or the default sound format the recorded audio is saved in is too bulky. The default Sound Recorder in Windows Mobile lets you save the recordings in only the WAV file format which takes up too much space. It also doesn't have many customizable features. If you like recording sound clips with your mobile but hate the default sound recorder, Resco Audio Recorder is a godsend for you.
To install Resco Audio Recorder, just download the CAB file and install it directly on your device. You can also install it through your PC via Active Sync.
Resco Audio Recorder has a lot of features that make it much more usable than the default sound recorder. For instance it can record audio in many formats including - MP3, OGG vorbis, Speex, WAV and RAF. You can also record in any format and convert those recordings to another format.
Another good feature is the built in file manager which lets you navigate to your recorded files and create / delete / cut / copy / paste / sort them. It also has a built in audio player which lets you play your recordings as well as music files. While It also comes with a 10 band equalizer that lets you fine tune your settings. Resco also helps block unwanted noise with the built in noise filter although that feature doesn't work very well. It also comes with the gain control feature which manages the sound volume levels.
Next Resco Audio Recorder also allows you to automatically record any call conversations and save the recorded files to any predefined folder while also allows attaching bookmarks in the conversation. The Scheduled recording feature then lets you schedule recordings for a specific time. You can even schedule a playback and use it as an alarm.
Finally the user interface is very easy to use and has a minimal learning curve since all the options are easily accessible. You can even use the shortcuts to perform tasks easily and you can also specify custom shortcuts.
All in all, a nice useful application with lots of features. Recommended!
