Bored with the same old alarms on your Windows Mobile Smartphone? Here comes Fizz Alarms to spice things up a bit.

Fizz Alarms ReviewRating Good

After some nice and simple applications like Fizz Weather and Fizz Traveller, Fizz software is back with their newest product - Fizz Alarms. While it doesn't bring anything new to the table it does greatly improve on some of the most basic features of every phone - Alarms, Stopwatch and Counters. As you are probably aware the built in alarm program on Windows Mobile is useful but a bit boring. Fizz Alarms brings the fun back to WinMo alarms; not to mention a lot of customizable features as well.

Installing Fizz Alarms is a breeze, you can install it directly by installing the CAB file on your device, or install it via Activesync on your PC, just as you would install any other application. Once installed the alarm is highly customizable - you can set scheduled alarms for a set time and select specific days of the week when you would want it to play. It also has monthly and yearly alarms which go off once every month and year respectively. You can also select which sound file to play (it supports WAV, WMA and MP3 files), turn vibration on / off, select whether the sound volume will continuously increase etc. You can also customize the snooze period for each alarm separately.

Besides the alarm feature, Fizz Alarms also has the Stopwatch and Counter feature. The stopwatch has almost all of the features any normal stopwatch would provide, include allowing for the saving of lap times. While the counter is basically like a timer, it lets you specify a time after which the alarm will go off which is perfect for cooking and keeping track of other important time sensitive materials. Fizz Alarms also supports setting multiple counters and also naming them so you remember what they were intended for. The user interface is also pretty nice with a sleek "web 2.0" look. The UI in fact is so nice that the learning curve should be about 20 seconds if you are at all familiar with Windows Mobile devices and maybe a little longer if you are not. The UI is also finger touch optimized for newer touch based devices like the HTC Touch series. The buttons and options are pretty big, you won't need to use your stylus with it. All in all, a very nice and useful application priced decently well. Recommended!
