A lo-fi Twitter client for your Windows Mobile device, peshirTweet is available for free download – but despite several useful configuration options, it doesn’t really look the part, despite some very useful features..
Stripped Down
With slick Windows Mobile Twitter clients such as Twikini and PockeTwit bringing modern iPhone-inspired design sensibilities to the Microsoft mobile platform, at first glance it’s hard to see exactly where peshirTweet fits in.
As a Twitter client it is reliable and clear. The problem is that although it adds functionality where some of the slicker solutions miss out or stumble with performance, there is little to say “use me”, no enhanced user interface to entice a user away from their desktop Twitter client, never mind their Web 2.0 Windows Mobile client.
Functional
However – if you’re in the small bracket of Windows Mobile users still on Windows CE or one of the other low-spec devices, peshirTweet might just be the tool for you.
peshirTweet has been developed by a regular Twitter user who felt that certain functions on existing Windows Mobile Twitter clients could be enhanced or work better – for instance a lack of copy and paste which is fully enabled in this client application which attempts to bring the best features of the Twitter API to Windows Mobile users rather than everything in the Twitter API.

Installation and Requirements
Available for download from FreewarePocketPC.net, peshirTweet requires runs on Windows Mobile Pocket PC 5 , 6 and 6.1 and requires the .NET Compact Framework v3.5.
To install, download the peshirTweets.zip file to either your desktoip PC or your Windows Mobile device. Unzip the contents on either device – if you’re using your desktop PC, make sure to then copy the peshirTweet.CAB file to your Windows Mobile handset – then run the CAB file to install.
Once this is done, it’s a quick and easy task of signing in to your Twitter account via Menu > Accounts, from where several Twitter accounts can be managed. peshirTweet also permits a choice of URL shortening and bandwidth shrinking services to be set, as well as employing a standard hashtag (for instance #windowsmobile) on every Tweet.
| Conclusion | Rating |
peshirTweet is firmly in the development stage, and although to all intents and purposes it is a stable release (and small too, just 67kb which ties in with its creators wish for something light and fully functional) it does lack a bit of punch in the presentation, and harkens back to ceTwit and other older versions of popular Windows Mobile Twitter clients.
