DreamConnect is a great productivity tool for Symbian S60 Smartphones that allows fast and convenient contact management on your device. Keep reading to learn more about this useful app.
Overview
With hundreds of contacts saved on the address book of my Symbian Smartphone, it sometimes becomes hard to manage this info. DreamConnect offers a user-friendly and quick way to manage and organize these contacts, saving your precious time and boosting your productivity. The app includes powerful and easy-to-use tools for searching, viewing, editing and categorizing contacts according to one's convenience. It displays detailed contact information on the screen and even allows you to call a contact directly from your address book with a single touch.
DreamConnect is developed by DreamSpring and can be bought for €20.00 after registering and providing some basic information on manufacturer’s website. I recommend my readers to download and test the app before buying the final product. The developers will allow you to download the trial version only if you have registered on their website and then you can download the setup file by entering your username and password. The program is compatible with all Smartphones operating on UIQ3 and Symbian S60 platforms. I connected my Symbian Smartphone with a PC and then used Nokia PC Suite to install the app on my device.
Examining DreamConnect App
When I started DreamConnect for the first time, I was guided to its registration screen that displayed the status of the trial version I had installed. I pressed ‘OK’ button and soon after that the app started validating and reloading the native contact database saved on my Smartphone. After this procedure was over, I was guided to a new screen that displayed a list of all the contacts present on my Smartphone along with a search box and alpha-numerical keypad at the bottom that can be used to search for a contact by typing first few letters or numbers of its name or mobile number.

Next, I pressed the ‘Options’ button that displayed a list of all the available options like Show Open Apps, New Contact, Edit Contact, Contact…(used for duplicating, deleting, copying and cutting a contact by selecting it from the list), Find, Mark/Unmark, Categories, Add To Categories, Remove from Categories, Send As, Sort by, Settings and Help. I was able to create a new contact by selecting the ‘New Contact’ option that further guided me to a new screen where I was able to enter all the info. I was able to view and edit any entry from the contact list displayed on the main screen by selecting the ‘Edit Contact’ option. The ‘Find’ option can be used to search contacts and can be customized by selecting any of the two available features Global find and Keymatch.

The Keymatch feature is a convenient way to search for a contact from a huge database by simply typing first few letters or numbers of the name or mobile number of that contact in the search box. This will display a list of all the associated entries on the main screen and you can select your desired contact from this list.
The Global find feature can be used to search for any text liked e-mail, street address that you have entered while creating a new contact.
I was able to categorize my contact database and synchronize the existing categories from Outlook by selecting ‘Categories’ option from Options menu. Here I could define subcategories and was able to organize and filter my contact database in any way I wanted. I was able to export a contact by using ‘Send As’ option and then navigated to the settings screen to configure various options and settings according to my convenience.
Final Verdict
DreamConnect not only makes contact management on your Symbian Smartphone convenient and fast but has a much better user-interface than the native address book database, displaying all the information on a single screen.
It offers multiple search options so that you can easily and quickly find a contact from a huge database, using info like name, mobile number, e-mail address and street address to locate specific contact on your phone.
I think the ability to categorize and filter address book contacts is one of the strongest points of this program and it's hard to find an app that includes so many features.
I will give this app 9 out of 10 points for its functionality, usability, easy-to-use interface, ability to display detailed contact view and powerful search feature.
