Mr. Lock is a very basic application to lock your Symbian based mobile device. Mr. Lock will install and run on S60 3rd generation devices. The installation is very easy and so is running the application.
Mr. Lock can be downloaded from http://mobifunsoft/mrlock and can then be installed from the downloaded location or through a PC suite software designed for your phone.
Mr. Lock is a simple application that runs in the background of your phone as a process. Mr. Lock offers a general function which is to lock the keypad. The locking period can be configured to your needs; I personally set it to lock after 30 seconds of inactivity.
A nice feature is that you are able to add exceptions to this rule so that some applications you may use will not become irritating to access. I find this to be a very nice feature because, for example, if you are using an instant messenger on your phone it can be quite irritating to have to unlock it every time you receive a reply or a new message.
One thing to remember is that Mr. Lock overrides the default locking application in S60.
If you have different profiles on your phone this application can also be beneficial for locking your phone at appropriate times. You can also have different configurations of locking set up for each profile, which is a nice touch for them to add to the design of the application.
To use Mr. Lock you simply install, configure and let it run in the background. You don’t need to perform any special operations in order to get it to run properly. This is a fantastic application to use, I have found and recommend it to be used as a keypad locking application to anyone.
There are no glaring weaknesses in Mr. Lock that I can find. It performs perfectly.
Mr. Lock is a simple application that is very useful due to its innate ability to lock your phone securely and customizability it offers by allowing you to lock for only specific profiles or all profiles that you contain on your mobile device.
Though this is a simple application, its usefulness outweighs the simplicity so I will rate it 4 out of 5.
