With Ovi now Nokia's primary brand of Internet Services, getting Ovi Mail on your phone is a simple process. The guide below will help you setup Ovi Mail on your E Series and Xpressmusic range of Symbian phones with built in Ovi setup utilities in the messaging application. Learn how to configure your phone to access Ovi mail and receive your emails on the go. With the extended Ovi Suite, you can sync your phone data such as contacts and messages to a remote location managed by Ovi.
A few minimum requirements for using Ovi Mail are -
An E Series or Xpressmusic Symbian phone running Feature Pack 1 or later.
An Unlimited data plan or a Wifi connection to utilize Ovi as you may be charged for the data consumed by the email service.
You do not have to download an application to get Ovi on your Symbian phone if you have a supported E series or Xpressmusic Symbian Smartphone. They have a built in wizard to allow signing up for a new Ovi Account. Follow the instructions below to sign up for a new Ovi mail account and start receiving mails on your Symbian phone.
Step 1 : Navigate to your main menu and select the "Messaging" icon. Open up the messaging application.
Step 2 : Press the left soft key and select Options from the menu that appears.
Step 3 : From the options menu select the "Add mailbox" option.
Step 4 : You will now see an prompt that says "Do you have an e-mail address you want to use on your phone?"
Step 5 : From the popup that appears on your screen choose the "No" option when asked.
Step 6 : The email sign-up wizard will now appear.
Step 7 : Enter your login, password and other personal details and sign up for a new Ovi account. Save these details.
Step 8 : The email setup wizard will now guide you through the remaining steps.
Step 9 : The final step will configure your phone for use with your Ovi Mail account.
You can now send and recieve mails from within the new Ovi mailbox that appears in your Messaging application.
