Poker TImer is a very simple program to use, basically because it offers a very simple process.
When I first launched the homebrewed app I was happy to see how simple it was to access new big and small blinds plus ante levels. To accomplish this task you simply click on "Add Level"
Simply clicking on "Add Level" allowed me to enter in new blinds and ante levels. The screen for this entry is finger friendly and simple to use:
Levels can also be editing using the same methods, meaning you can change your blind levels part way through a tournament if players want to make the game move along at a faster pace. This is a great edit option for tournaments that are running way behind schedule. That is if you can get all players to agree on the level rising.
You can also skip a blind level by clicking on it and choosing the delete option. You can also press cancel if you accidentally choose the blind for deletion:
Once you've setup your blind levels you need to choose the time for each level and any breaks you want players to take. This works by setting the "levels between breaks" and the times for each level. As a simple example if I choose 2 levels between breaks and 5 minutes, I would end up playing for 16 minutes with one blind raise and then take an 8 minute break at which point the blinds will raise again. Users also choose a vibrate option for the number of times there device should vibrate between levels.
After the blinds and ante are set users then choose the "Start Tournament" button in order to start the blinds timers. The timer then shows the total amount of time played in the tournament, the current blinds and ante and the next blind and ante. The program also offers the ability to "pause" the timer in case any issues arise or extra breaks are requested.
Poker Timer is a must have Palm Pre homebrewed application for Poker players looking to streamline their home tournaments or for anyone who wants to follow along with the official blinds are organized tournies. It's a very simple application to use thanks to intuitive navigation and it definitely comes in handy.
You can download this free app at PreCentral and I highly recommend if you play in a lot of poker tournaments that you take advantage of this poker app.
