Your regular charger broke, or your cat chewed through it, or maybe you spilt half a bottle of Gatorade on it. Whatever the case, you need a new charging solution for your smartphone. Fear not! We have both home and mobile solutions for you, so let's get to it!

Isn't my regular charger good enough?

Well, in a word, no. Many default chargers that come along with the phone you get from the store or service provider are inadequate in a number of ways. They are typically the most bare bones charging options you'll ever find, and for good reason; they're cheap. The phone manufacturers want to keep costs down, so the cheaper they can make the included accessories the better, for them at least.

That leaves a large market for third party manufacturers to create bigger and better chargers to market to people who either want a better option or have fallen victim to shoddy manufacturing of included charging solutions. Not to mention how often pets and kids like to ruin anything and everything that is plugged into a wall.

If you're in need of a new wall mounted charging station, or perhaps would be more interested in a mobile wireless charging station, plenty of companies have you covered. Lets explore some of the options available.

    Callpod Chargepod

415mzCLMd-L. SL500 AA300 First on the list of hot wall mounted charging stations is a device that looks more like an octopus than anything else. Like something out of a crazy sci-fi movie, the Callpod Chargepod (interesting name, eh?) provides a charging solution for not only multiple types of devices, but also for up to 6 devices charging at the same time. It provides charging options for many popular cell connections as well as BlackBerry and Apple devices like the iPhone and iPod Touch. It has a sleek form factor that is designed to remove any kind of access wiring from the equation. This can be a blessing and a curse, as it makes it very hard to use the device while it's charging. The other issue is that while there are 6 charging adapters included, that means there is only one for each kind of device. So, if you wanted to charge an iPod and an iPhone at the same time that simply won't work.

    MobileSpec Universal Charger

If you're looking for a wall mounted universal cell phone charger option with a little less glitz than the Callpod, you may want to check out the MobileSpec Universal charge kit. It comes with the same 6 adapters as the Callpod, but is designed with a more utilitarian look in mind. A simple power plug that sticks in the wall is paired with one of six different adapters on the other end. This of course means that you can only charge one device at a time, which is a drawback. The MobileSpec is more of a replacement option than anything you'd buy as an added accessory to your phone, but it's still a decent deal at only about twenty bucks.

    Lenmar Power Pack

414BjcdFfxL. AA300 The Lenmar Universal Power Pack is a great wireless charging station especially for people on the go. The pack comes with a large power tank in a sleek black form factor. The main unit of the kit charges independently and is then taken along for mobile charging when a regular outlet simple isn't available. The kit boasts up to two full power charges out of a single charge of its main unit and it can be recharged up to 500 times before losing its luster.

    Powermat Wireless Charging

The Powermat is one of the most advanced wireless charging stations available. With futuristic qualities like removing any and all wires between your phone and the charger itself, the Powermat is not only efficient, but also eye-catching. You will need to purchase a compatible case that goes with your specific device, and then the Powermat charging station does the rest. You simply set your device on the mat itself and it charges without any kind of wires needed. It's a bit more expensive than the other options, but it's also oh so cool.
