Attractive and Shallow

Tic Tac Toe is, in and of itself, a boring game. It takes a very illogical, or pathologically intoxicated, opponent to actually lose at a game of Tic Tac Toe. There have been several Tic Tac Toe games for the iPhone made available at the iTunes’ App Store, each of which takes a great effort to spruce of the Tic Tac Toe model.

There offer great graphical interfaces, colorful pictures, great playability, connection with other players, communication that is open, and a myriad of other features. In the end, it is still a boring iPhone port of Tic Tac Toe. It has turned out that it is truly impossible to “polish a turd.” PlayMesh has indeed tried to do this with Tic Tac Toe Online.

Here is Tic Tac Toe Online

PlayMesh’s Tic Tac Toe Online for the iPhone and iPod Touch is the best Tic Tac Toe game available for the iPhone. If you like Tic Tac Toe there is nothing better on the iPhone. If you don’t like Tic Tac Toe then there is really nothing that will make this great. There is a lot in PlayMesh’s Tic Tac Toe Online to like. It has a nice Lobby system where you can talk to other players in a chat function. You have your own Tic Tac Toe Online player profile. You can alter the aesthetic settings to do things like turn the Tic Tac Toe Online sounds and animations off or on.

When you are actually playing against another player in real time you have a nice interface that connects quickly and allows you to play smoothly. The problem here? Nobody usually wins. It is next to impossible to lose or win in Tic Tac Toe, and no amount of game design is going to change that.

Free PlayMesh Points

One thing that PlayMesh has included as a way of promoting the free version of Tic Tac Toe Online is to give away twenty free PlayMesh Points to all of the PlayMesh free text based iPhone RPGs. This means that you can get free PlayMesh Points in iMafia III, iPirates, Wild West, Street Racers 3D, Vampire II, Warbots, Heroes III, or any of the other PlayMesh titles where you usually have to pay extraordinary prices for PlayMesh Points. If you are a follower of the PlayMesh free text-based iPhone RPGs then there is a major incentive here, as you will always need to jump at any chance to get free PlayMesh Points, especially this many free PlayMesh Points.

It May Be For You, But Not For Most

There is no question that if you want this game you should only get the free version instead of Tic Tac Toe Online Premium, which costs $0.99. Unfortunately, it is just not worth it even though it is so beautiful. I am going to give this a moderately positive review because it is the best of its kind and affords you free PlayMesh Points, but I do not expect anyone will have fun with it. Six out of ten stars.
