Google Images features images being cached from multiple websites. This is very easy to access. Go to Safari on the iPhone. From there go to http://m.google.com. This is Google's mobile portal for the iPhone, which results in easier formatting as you go through the pictures. These are the same pictures that you would see from the full blown desktop version of Google. Something that I really enjoy with using Google Image search is the auto suggestion mechanism. For example, if I type in "4th of July", I get suggestions such as "4th of July Fireworks" and "4th of July Cake" These suggestions can play off of any words that you type. Once you select a search item, thumbnails are displayed. From there, the pictures are displayed in full screen. To download the pictures, simply hold down on the image with your finger, it will give you the options of to Save Image or Copy. When you choose copy, it downloads to the Camera Roll folder, just like the Backgrounds Application.
I would like to include some tips when using Google Image Search. One item that I would suggest is to turn safe filtering on. Otherwise, I found some interesting pictures that wouldn’t be appropriate for all audiences. In addition, when you select a picture, you will see a resolution at the bottom of the page. I suggest trying to get a picture that is close to 320x480 or 960x640 resolution for an iPhone 4.
