It's not just that QuickOffice supports Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Text files that makes it such a great application (although it helps) but rather the fact that it displays those options in their original format. The original format viewer means users can easily check files sent to them or quickly check over documents on the go before sending them via their Gmail accounts to other users.
At the time of this article QuickOffice is the only Google Android app to support Microsoft Office (.Doc) and Excel (.xls) files.

File Viewing FeaturesRating
The size of a mobile device's display can oftentimes hinder the users ability to easily view and navigate Microsoft Office files, luckily QuickOffice for Google Android has taken the smaller size of your mobile devices screen into account. Below I've included the application's main viewing options.
The first ease of use option is the ability to zoom in and out on any part of an opened application, this option allows users to more easily see each section they choose to view, while "smooth scrolling" ensures that zoomed in areas transition between movements easily.
Users may also choose to view files in standard mode or turn their devices into landscape mode, thanks to a built in sensor those transitions are smooth and flawless happening in about 1 second for easy transitioning.
When using Word files the QuickOffice app also eliminates left/right scrolling by wrapping .doc files for easy reading formatted to fit your screen.
Word documents may also contain bulleted and numbered lists, tables and images all in their original formatting, while following document links of any kind (URL's, Phone Numbers, Etc.) is easy thanks to built in accessibility.
Excel documents also display with their familiar Excel document view while making it easy to resize columns and rows for easy viewing can be done on the fly in a matter of seconds. Users can even view cell formatting and formulas quickly and efficiently.

Before you can view files you'll need to find them, for this purpose QuickOffice offers its own file navigation software, simply browse your devices files and choose the files you want to open. QuickOffice also allows users to rename and delete files on the fly while also sorting those same files by document name, type, size and date modified.

QuickOffice is the best app for Microsoft Documents to be found on Google Android to this point, of course it's the only app at this stage of the game that supports .Doc and .XLS files. I would give QuickOffice my highest praise, however, the lack of Microsoft Office 2007 support is a real let down. However, if you simply need to view Office 2003 files or earlier and you want formatting to be at the top of your viewing preferences then QuickOffice is definitely worth the current introductory rate of $7.99 I highly recommend getting your hands on the app before that price rises, I promise you won't be disappointed.
