When dealing with a new phone and platform there are bound to be questions. Here is a list of some tips and tricks that you may find useful. Hopefully this information will make your experience an even better one!
How To's
Creating Folders on The Home Screen
- While on the home screen, press and hold, a menu will appear.
- Select Shortcut, the first option will be Folder
Renaming a Folder
- While in the folder, press and hold the top bar of the folder
- You will then be able to enter the folder name you wish and save
Save A Phone Number From The Call List To Contacts
- While on the Call History page, long press on the number you want to save and the screen will come up to do so
Entering Safe Mode
- While powering on the phone, hold down the Menu button, the phone will then enter safe mode
View Recent Apps
- Hold the home button for 5 seconds and it will show the last 6 applications that have been used
Typing Tips
Highlighting Text
- Press shift and roll the trackball in the direction of the text to highlight
Shortcuts
- To Cut: Menu + X
- To Paste: Menu + V
- To Copy: Menu + C
Delete Full Words and Not Letters
- Press Menu + Delete while typing will delete full words instead of letter by letter

Browsing Tips
Centering The View
- When viewing a page, double tap a section and the browser will then center to that area
Magnify Page and Show All
- Double click the trackball
Open Link In New Window and Menu Options
- With a link highlighted, hold down the trackball and some menu options will pop up, one of them will be to open in new window
Saving Pictures
- With the image selected, press and hold for 2 to 3 seconds, a menu will pop up and the option to save will be available
Faster Browsing With Keyboard
- Pressing Alt + Trackball will allow you to utilize fast scroll when browsing and navigating with the keyboard
Change Page Orientation
- While in the browser go to Menu | More | Flip Orientation. This will make it so the orientation is changed and you do not have to open or close the phone
Clear Cached Information
- Go to Settings | Applications | Manage Applications | Browser | Clear Data - This can be a memory saver. If you use the browser on a frequent basis you may want to do this from time to time
