Never again will you overlook your missed calls or forget to return all your calls if you download the Missed Call Alert application. The Missed Call Alert is an application which alerts you on a frequent basis if you have a missed call and keeps you in the good graces of family and friends! The application is capable of creating recurring audible alerts by using the active profile settings on your BlackBerry device. BlackBerry users can also customize their alerts according to their needs by playing with options like “Ringtone”, “Volume”,” Frequency” and more.
After I downloaded the application, a message flashed on my screen which alerted me that the Missed Call Alert application doesn’t create an icon and and I have to configure it by selecting the Options icon from the home screen. Personally this didn't make me very happy, as an application should be as convenient as possible.
However, I proceeded to the Options menu, clicked on Advance Options, then Applications and accessed the app. There I chose to keep the default permissions set as they were.
This isn’t where the navigation stopped! Once I chose to keep the default permissions, then I proceeded to my sound profiles where I could configure "Missed Call Alert" audible alert details. I selected my “Normal” profile, and saw that “Missed Call Alert” was listed in my Normal Profile.
On clicking edit, I was able to configure the various options like “Out of Holster”, “Ringtone”, “Volume” etc.
I then again made my way to the BlackBerry Options screen to set the alert frequency. There I was able to choose the frequency of the alert and I opted for every 15 minutes.
Once I was able to configure all the settings, I gave myself a missed call from a landline and waited for the alert. I wasn’t disappointed as my Bold started alerting me after every 15 minutes by flashing a message, which listed the caller’s name and number.
Missed Call Alert is a little nifty application to have, however when it comes to the execution of the program, I was a little disappointed.
While the application did do the job as advertised, I wish there was a simpler way to configure it. Automatic integration is great however I missed having an icon, as configuring can be a little tedious. The application is available for $4.99 and I think it’s fairly priced.
