The Curve-series from Blackberry has been greatly appreciated by users, so much so that the release of every new Curve model attracts tons of attention, in fact in November and December of 2008 Curve sales beat iPhone sales in worldwide sales. The Blackberry Curve 8900 is definitely one of the best Blackberry business phones till date, but this new unit is giving it some nice competition. Curve models are famous for their beautiful, elegant and exquisite design and the Blackberry Curve 8350i is no exception, it inherits almost the same design and shape but is a bit more bulky and large than all the previous models. It has a 2.4 inch QVGA TFT screen which displays 65k colors at a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. The screen is also equipped with light sensing technology which enables the user to adjust the screen resolution according to the light of the surroundings.
Almost half of the front panel is occupied by the TFT screen and the other half is covered by a full QWERTY keyboard and in between is the back-lit trackball with calling keys: Talk, End, Menu and Clear. The SureType keyboard that you have seen in previous Blackberry models is replaced by a full QWERTY keyboard that is extremely easy and comfortable to use. Sending of e-mails and messages also becomes quite easy by the use of this keyboard because it has large keys with ample space between them.
The left side of the unit then houses a 2.5 mm headphone jack, a direct connect button and a mini USB port that is used to connect the phone to other compatible devices and computers. On the right side you will find the volume-rocker keys along with a convenience key that is set to camera shutter switch by default factory settings. The top panel hosts a Mute button that is used to switch off/on the volume of the device. The back panel holds the camera along with a LED flash and a small mirror that is used to click self-portraits. The battery lid covers the battery of the phone under which you will find the sim card and a microSD card slot.
