  • Using my Blackberry 8800 Series phone to connect my laptop to the Internet

I have a BlackBerry 8800 series and have heard that I might be able to use it to access the Internet via my Windows Laptop. Is that true, and if so, does anyone know how, or know of a good resource, to do it?

Most blackberries can be used as modem to get onto the internet, which is known as tethering. However phone carriers generally require you to have not only a data plan on your phone, but an additional add-on plan just for that feature (so it can be unlocked on your end). Call your phone carrier for more info and to get it added to your plan. For example, Verizon Wireless, uses a specific windows program to get you on the internet, VZAccess Manager, which is the same program they use for aircards and other mobile internet products.
