Are you tired of the generic email signature that is automatically appended to your message and displayed whenever you send someone an email? Email signatures are a powerful medium to state any important information such as your contact details and job profile. You can also use it when in a meeting to instantly inform the contact that you will reply to them later. I'm going to explain how you can delete or change the signature on a BIS (Blackberry Internet Service) Account which is typically used for personal use.
To get started with either removing, editing or modifying automatic signatures you first need to have an account with your service provider on their BIS (Blackberry Internet Service) web page. In case you do not already know your service providers BIS page ask your service provider for the URL. On the left for example you can see the BIS page for Sprint. Create an account here or if you have your login details, you can login.
Create a new web mail account if you do not already have one. Follow the instructions displayed on screen to create a new one. By default all BIS accounts will have the carrier name and a sent by message. For example Sent via BlackBerry by Sprint. Follow the instructions below to get rid of this signature in your BIS account.
To remove the default, automatically appended signature follow the steps below -
Step 1 : Login to your Service provider BIS web page.
Step 2 : Enter your credentials and login.
Step 3 : Navigate to the mail account which contains the signature which you want to change. It can be found on the BIS page.
Step 4 : Navigate to the email signature item and edit the text directly under it. You will see the default signature in this location such as Sent via BlackBerry by Sprint. Edit or delete this text as per your preference and enter a more professional and meaningful signature. Select the Save button after making the necessary modifications.
Step 5 : Enter your BIS page and send an email. It should now contain your new signature.
