What is Plazmic?

Plazmic Theme Builder is a program that will help you build themes for your phone. It will help users customize the home screen, icons, animated graphics, and other interactive content for use with their phones. It’s really a great program that many people enjoy, but the installation process seems to be slightly intimidating for some. If you want to install Plazmic Theme Builder, look no further because the instructions you need are right here.

How to Install Plazmic Theme Builder

First things first. You’ll need to visit the Plazmic website in order to download the installation files. At the time of this writing, the most current version of the program, Plazmic Content Developer Kit is 4.7. To download the software, you’ll have to fill out a registration form. The download is completely free.

Now, once you download the program, you’ll need to connect your phone to your computer with the USB cable and open the Desktop Manager software.

Choose the Application Loader option. Click next, then choose Add.

Select the Plazmic Content Developer Kit option. Confirm the installation and wait for it to complete. Your phone may need to be restarted before you can disconnect it from your computer.

It is important to know that themes created with newer versions of Plazmic Theme Builder will not work on operating systems older than the equivalent version of Plazmic. It is possible to make edits to the program files—to be done at your own risk—to make the themes created with newer versions of the program work with older operating systems.

Here’s what you need to do to make those adjustments.

  • Make sure the program is closed.
  • In your Program Files directory, find the Plazmic Theme Builder folder.
  • Find the Resources folder, then find the Themes folder. You should now see two folders.
  • In each of these two folders, there are files with names such as, “8100Custom.” You should open the file with Notepad by right clicking and choosing the “open with” option. Make back up copies of these files in case you mess something up.

Look for these lines and edit them to read:

“theme.supportedHandheldOs = 4.5

change the OS to 4.2,4.3,4.5

For the 8800 file, edit the line to read OS 4.2.1,4.2.2,4.5

That’s all there is to it. If you have any issues, contact Plazmic.
