Turn On The Blackberry Backlight
Simply click the "Power Button"
Switch Between Programs
Hold Down the "Alt" key and then press the "Escape" button. Then while still holding down the Alt Key select the program you want to switch over to, once that program is selected simply let go of the Alt key.
Exit Any Screen or Dialogue Box
Simply Press the Escape Button.
Automatically Insert A Period
Simply press the spacebar button twice and a period will automatically be inserted. Also the first letter you type after the double space button will be capitalized.
Insert The @ Sign In an Email Recepient Field
Type the start of the email address and then the "Space Button" for instance Brighthub (Space button) email.com would output Brighthub@email.com.
Add An Accent Or Special Character
Hold down the letter key that offers the special character you want to use, when holding that letter roll your trackball to see the special characters and accents.
Change A Current Option Field
Hold down the Alt key and then choose a new value from the options provided.
Move To A New Item From A Menu Or List
When in a Menu or at a list simply click the first letter of the item you want to move to. If more than one item begins with the same letter you'll be brought to the items in alphabetical order.
Choose A Check Box
When you arrive at a checkbox option simply click the "Space Button" and it will be selected or unselected if its already check marked.
Highlight A Line Of Text
Press the shift key then roll your trackball across the lines that you want to highlight. This is pretty much inline with the use of a mouse on a computer, you can then copy the text and paste it as needed.
Page Down
Again you simple press the "Space Button."
If you haven't noticed yet the "Space Button" is pretty much the Blackberry "Magic Button" for shortcutting.
Page Up
Press the Shift + Space Keys together.
