I love your article, "Students Can Smell Fear"! It's so true. Funny, my aunt gave me the same advice that your mother gave you: Start out stern, and then you can let up a bit later. I always followed that advice, and it worked.

This article is much needed. Bullying has become way to much the norm and teachers don't know how to handle it. I loved your article and maybe you could write a follow up with suggestions on how to handle some situations where you might be facing a bully!

That article is sooooo true! Teenagers can be some of the fiercest creatures on the planet... they will pick up on your emotions but they are also amazingly sympathetic when you're sick or feeling tired. If you treat them with stern respect and helpfulness they will not let you down.
