Search engine optimization and search engine marketing in general, is a subject I am quite passionate about, and feel very fortunate to be able to share my experience with such a talented group of writers, marketers and website developers at Bright Hub.
I started my career in Internet marketing about 12 years ago when I was given the task of maintaining the company website in a kicking version of Hot Dog Pro that, brace yourself, added <b></b> and <i></i> in your html code for you, saving oodles of time from that laborious task! Needless to say, I learned HTML inside and out -- something that continues to serve me very well in SEO.
I first began ‘optimizing ‘that company website in 1998 when it wasn’t even called that. Search engine positioning was all the rage, and Google – they were just that new search engine most people had never heard of. A lot has changed, but one thing has remained the same: a quality website, nurtured with some TLC and a lot of hard work, will almost always rise to the top. And that’s what we have here. I look forward to watching it grow.
8 years with Mannix Marketing, Inc. - recently named one of the top 30 organic optimization companies in the US. I've helped hundreds of clients achieve a high ROI thru the practical application of SEO and PPC as part of their overall marketing plan. While at Mannix, I also played an integral role in the optimization of their three primary geodomains: Saratoga.com, Albany.com and LakeGeorge.com. Prior to Mannix, I managed all facets of both B2B and B2C sales and marketing of ADK's excellent guidebook publications, sports apparel and logo merchandise. ADK was rooted in traditional direct marketing and catalog sales. It was great fun to be a part of the transition to Internet sales and this is where I discovered that Internet marketing was my 'niche'. In addition to managing sales and marketing, I oversaw the operations of two store locations and the order fullfillment department.
