Having grown up in Central America speaking both English and Spanish since the age of four, it came naturally to work as a translator and a teacher of English to non-native speakers. I still live in beautiful El Salvador, where my wife Gabriela and I support each other in raising our three daughters, moving forward in our respective careers, and serving humanity.
I hold a bachellor's degree in Liberal Arts from the Evergreen State College, in Olympia Washington (1983). I also have a certificate from the teacher preparation course at Universidad Centroamericana José Simeon Cañas in El Salvador (1999). Since then, I have been proudly putting my wife through college. I may seek further certification later
I have translated and interpreted from Spanish to English and English to Spanish since I was a teenager, both as a volunteer and free-lance. I have taught English as a Foreign Language to adults at a university extension program since 1992 and to teenagers as part of junior high and high school curriculae since 1998. I have been a volunteer for the Bahá'í Faith in many places including the Turtle Mountain Res in N. Dakota, in Brasilia, Brazil; in Haifa, Israel; and in El Salvador, Central America. My greatest achievement, however, is having become a father to three wonderful, creative, intelligent girls.
