Stormstrike is a former newspaper reporter who covered crime and courts for a regional daily before a brief stint as an associate editor at a gaming magazine. Unlike many of his former colleagues, he got out of print media before the ship started sinking and now earns a living as a public relations consultant for non-profits. He joined Bright Hub to earn extra cash during this craptastic economic period and to have some fun writing lighter stuff.

Gannett Quarterly Awards: More than two dozen over seven years with Gannett
I've covered murders, mall shootings, fatal fires and local stories of national significance. Most of my time as a reporter was spent as a GA (general assignment) reporter, with the expectation of subject-matter mastery and the ability to quickly switch between topics and beats. I've spent a good deal of time covering criminal courts, as the daytime GA and back-up court reporter for a regional daily newspaper, and I've filled in often on the environmental and education beats.
I've had bylines in the Associated Press, USA Today, the Wall Street Journal, the Boston Globe, the (NY) Journal News, the New York Post, and several dozen Gannett newspapers across the U.S.
I miss it!
