I've been involved in the medical field pretty much my whole life. Seriously, when I was a toddler, my mother was the assistant to the director of a medical school. As I was growing up, several of my babysitters were medical students who would study with me asking them about the pictures in their books. Once I got into High School, I became an apprentice in a laboratory and later a phlebotomist. Then I went to college and became a Medical Technologist. Once I got my act together and matured a bit, I became an Epidemiologist. Now I work at a State Health Department, conducting flu surveillance and investigating clusters and outbreaks of different diseases and conditions.
