I am the blessed wife of an incredible husband and the mother of four children. They range in age from 11 down to 3. I grew up in sunny San Diego, CA and had the benefit of living in an environment that promoted optimal health. I can thank my mother for raising me with the belief that my body was able to heal itself if given the proper nutrients and balance and that western medicine is best used for complementing alternative approaches to health. I began actively studying natural health and alternative medicine 20 years ago, before my journey into family life began. I am a triathlete and a former competitive gymnast. I received my BA in Spanish at Oregon State University and became an elementary school language arts teacher as well as a high school Spanish teacher before I had children. In addition to my love for teaching, I am passionate about researching and sifting through all of the natural health information out there to truly find out what really works. Once I had children, I had no other option than to find effective means of preventing and healing sicknesses in a natural way because their health and the health of my husband and myself was all in my hands. I have raised four healthy children who have seldom been to an alopathic doctor and who have never taken atibiotics, had a single infection or had need to go to the hospital. I have had all four of my children naturally and at home with the help of amazing midwives.
I have experimented with a myriad of different diet philosophies such as raw, juice fasting, vegetarian, vegan, whole foods, etc... and have experimented as well with many different ways of feeding my family for optimum health as well as balance. I have tried ozone therapies, chiropractic, massage, long term juice fasting, hydortherapy, light touch chiropractic to name a few. I have approached all health concerns from a natural perspective and have studied under naturopaths, natural health experts, and have studied extensively on the subjects of natural health, preventative approaches and alternative medicine.
I have had extensive hands on experience in learning how to have a healthy pregnancy and natural birth as well as how to keep my figure through four pregnancies. It is my desire to share this information as well as have a place for other experts in the field to share their knowledge with the general public.
